Harris County, TX, March 16, 2026, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo and the Greater Houston Partnership (GHP), in collaboration with Houston First and the FIFA World Cup 26™ Host Committee, are leading a strategic trade mission to Germany, Portugal and the Netherlands to expand global economic partnerships and bring foreign investment to Harris County. All three host countries will play games in Houston during the FIFA World Cup 26™. 

During their time in Europe, Judge Hidalgo and the delegation will meet with key global business and sports leaders to encourage them to invest or expand into Harris County. The visit is designed to use sports diplomacy to promote Houston and Harris County as a global destination for business, travel, and major international events.

This is the third trade mission Judge Hidalgo has led during her tenure. Her previous trade missions to Paris and Taiwan/Japan have helped secure local investments from massive international companies including Inventec, Foxconn and Mitsubishi.
