Judge Hidalgo partnered with the Houston World Cup Host Committee and FIFA to purchase 250 tickets at a reduced price of $170 each with her campaign funds, a contribution of just over $41,000. She and her County Judge’s Office team partnered with Interfaith Ministries, the Boys and Girls Club and Harris County Precinct 1 Commissioner Rodney Ellis to distribute them. Each organization made the ticket distribution and attendance logistics possible, thus playing a crucial role. Each partner was vital. The tickets were assigned as follows:

“What an incredible night! It was so beautiful to cheer on Cabo Verde and Saudi Arabia alongside my distinguished guests: 250 kids from across Harris County. We got to witness history together when Cabo Verde became the smallest nation ever to advance to the knockout stage. Thank you to all of our partners who helped make this possible. All of us will always remember this!” said Judge Lina Hidalgo.
