Harris County, TX, August 26, 2025 – Judge Hidalgo continues to highlight the proposed cuts in the FY2026 budget. The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) presented a proposal that would eliminate the county’s $200M+ deficit by making cuts that include county programs and services.
Judge Hidalgo is calling for transparency and accountability from the Commissioners who voted to put Harris County in this large of a deficit. She will not vote for a budget that cuts services and harms residents’ quality of life.
