Judge Hidalgo Delivers Books to Students During Holiday Book Drive

Harris County, TX, December 19, 2025, Judge Hidalgo delivered books to students at Our New Beginning Learning Academy and The Lawson Academy this week as part of the County Judge’s Office holiday book drive. In total, Judge Hidalgo’s office has delivered more than 450 books donated by Harris County residents to students ages 2-13 this holiday season.

Commissioners Court Extends 100% Property Tax Exemption With No Expiration for Qualifying Child Care Providers

Harris County, TX, December 11, 2025, Today Harris County Commissioners Court unanimously voted to reauthorize a 100% property tax exemption for qualifying childcare providers under Proposition 2 for Tax Year 2026, and each year thereafter. The exemption is estimated to save eligible child care providers in Harris County up to thousands of dollars per year.
